The Medicine Shield Retreat is an opportunity to step out of our everyday world, to pause and ask

ourselves the big questions, Who am I? What is my purpose? What are my strengths, my gifts?

Calling for a Vision, we women join together to support each other in what may be called a Rite of

Passage. Carl Jung once said, “The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.” And that is

exactly what we are here to do in the beauty of Nature, aligned with the spirit of the land, river, forest and

ocean; we open our hearts and souls to the guidance that is within and around us. We awaken our

connection to Spirit, our Guides and Ancestors and those who walked this Land before us.

A Medicine Shield is sacred art that is created by each individual for the purpose of insight, protection,

self-knowledge and healing. It is a process that helps to allow the emergence of awareness; it is not a

copied or commercial art form. Starfeather is the energy holder and elder guide of the retreat. She began

making shields in the mid-1980s. Each shield she has made expresses her journey to spiritual expansion on

her path of evolution. She has made over 50 Medicine Shields and offers a deeply loving, inspiring

presence as she guides this process with the women on spiritual retreat.

We begin in Sacred Circle. This way we connect with each other and in prayer and meditation with our

guides and Ancestors.

We are calling for a Vision.

Many art materials are provided to excite the visual senses and possibilities. We spend time in nature, to

walk in silence to listen, feel, be. To connect. We create. And come together in Circle in the evening to

share, to drum and sing, and then to our own lodging to dream. We engage, our Soul expressing.

What can this process teach me, reflect back to me? What is the next step on this ever expanding, evolving

Journey? I am ready to open to the vulnerable place in me as I stand here asking. May I be guided, for I

seek in earnest, with compassion for myself, for my highest and best good. I am ready.

I give myself this gift of a Rite of Passage for my next step in awareness, to become who I truly am.

Location: The Quillayute River Resort on the Olympic Peninsula, Washington State, is where the Retreat

Home Base is located in Suite #1. Some lodging is available www.QuillayuteRiverResort.com for

participants. This location is very near Rialto Beach, a national seashore beach on the Pacific Ocean and

sits on beautiful river-side land that abuts a magical old forest.

Also available are various Airbnbs near Forks WA.

Lodging is not included in the Retreat reservation or fee. Please be sure to make your own reservations.

Retreat Fee: $295. Reserve your place with advance payment of $100. Balance due 2 weeks prior to Retreat. No refund 5 days prior to event.
